Today | September Focus: College Clay
As you might imagine, there is a lot of clay going on in colleges. And, of course, we can't show all of it, but we did ask undergraduate students to "show us what you got," and they came through in our first-ever Undergraduate Showcase . We were also pretty much blown away by the Regional Student Juried Exhibit in Pittsburgh this year at the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts conference, so we asked the jurors to talk about the work and what they think it means for the future of studio ceramics. Finally, we're gearing up again this fall with our MFA Factor profiles, where we feature a graduate program each month from September through December. This month, it's Arizona State University. If you've got something to say about college clay, let us know.

The annual exhibition, which takes place at the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts conference, occupied three gallery rooms at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts this year. The jurors share their thoughts on the work and their reflections on ceramic education. |
